Let the Countdown begin!

It's officially New Years Eve and in less than 24 hours, depending on where you live, 2010 will be gone and 2011 will be upon us. For myself and the OBNOXXIOUS crew, 2010 has most definitely been a good year. And, we can only hope that 2011 will put 2010 to shame. We're grateful for all of our Obnoxxious fans! Because, without you, we would just be plain obnoxious. Thanks for standing by our side and giving us feedback on ways we can make our brand better. You will most certainly see some positive changes in the very near future. But just know that one thing that we will never change is our promise to always be Obnoxxious! We challenge to all to start the new year off by going beyond the boundaries that others have set for you as well as the ones that you may have set for yourself. Always push the limits. Always stay Obnoxxious! Have a safe and Happy New Year! And be Obnoxxious!

365 Days till Christmas!

I realize that I'm stating the obvious with the title of this blog post, but another Christmas and Holiday Season is rapidly coming to an end and I'm happy to say that we survived it. If you're anything like us, you waited until Christmas Eve to start your shopping. But, no matter what you may celebrate or believe, hopefully this month you were able to spend some time with the ones you love and remembered that life is short, so there's no sense in playing it safe. I've heard all the talk on the radio about Santa's whereabouts, so I decided to do a little internet research myself. And, it didn't take long before I found a Santa tracker on Google Earth which tells his exact location and where he's delivered presents already and where he still needs to deliver presents. But for now, it looks like Santa's hanging out in the North Pole for a few days before vacationing in Hawaii...

Winter Apparel Delay

So, as some of you may already know, we've been a little behind on releasing our Winter 2010 apparel. But, I'm happy to say that it's finally finished. And I hope you'll all agree that it was worth the wait! We started working on winter designs in September and just received all of the newly printed merchandise less than two weeks ago. If you're wondering why it took so long, you're not alone. We too are struggling with finding a legitimate answer to this question. But, we had to revise a few designs several times and also had to deal with an overbooked screen printer and an extremely busy shipping season. So, believe me when I say that frustrations were running high. But, in life, there are always obstacles that will try and stop you from doing what you want to do. But, you have to keep going and continue to move forward. As Confucius said, "It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop..." There's not a whole lot better than eating so much turkey that you feel like you might explode! Unless of course, you eat so much turducken that you feel like you might explode. By now, I'm sure that you're all familiar with the term 'turducken.' But for those of you not living on this planet, it's a chicken stuffed inside of a duck stuffed inside of a turkey. Yea, I feel the same way as you. The man that invented this, I'm assuming it's a man seeing as we are more naturally pigs, should be honored with his own day. Maybe National Turducken Day could be the day after Thanksgiving? Actually, that's probably a little too close. But, I would love to say that I'm looking forward to having turducken sandwiches the day after Thanksgiving. Although, today, while dreaming about stuffing my face, I read an article about a new type of creation called a 'gooducken.' It's a goose stuffed inside of a chicken. And then I came up with my own creation. It's called a 'spigeon.' It's a sparrow stuffed inside of a pigeon. So maybe next year, I can have one of those and also celebrate Thanksgiving at Paula Deen's house. Hey, we all have to dream right? Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Ski COLORADO!

So, seeing how it's been snowing quite a bit for the last week or so in Colorado, the crew and I decided to check the snow report and take a peek at a couple of the ski resort webcams. Overall, the snow is looking pretty fresh! We've been anxiously awaiting for a free weekend when we can go to the mountaintop and shred some fresh powder. While browsing some webcams, we found a site called Snoweye that basically has all ski resort webcams from all around the world in one place. It's definitely pretty cool. People Are Obnoxxious!

I just came across this video on youtube, entitled "PEOPLE ARE AWESOME." However, I felt a more appropriate title is "PEOPLE ARE OBNOXXIOUS!" Since our definition of obnoxxious means pushing the limits in whatever you do, going beyond the point where others would think is far enough, standing out amongst the crowds and chaos, and making a name for yourself, this video is basically Obnoxxious defined through real life actions. Colorado Grown!

Maybe it's an unhealthy obsession. Or maybe, we're slightly biased because we all grew up here, but we, along with our Obnoxxious friends, love Colorado! What other state can you experience all four seasons in one day? We're basically 45 minutes from everything worth doing: camping, fishing, skiing, sledding, wake boarding, dirt biking, 4-wheeling, shooting, etc. And on top of that, we believe that there's something just a little more Obnoxxious about Colorado residents than the rest of the world. And, in no way is this a bad thing! We love it! Perhaps it's something in the water... By the end of this post, maybe you'll begin to feel the connection to Colorado that we feel. Summer's GONE!

As you already know, or don't know, our company is located in Grand Junction, Colorado. Never heard of it? Well, imagine mountains, desert, water, and everything in-between. Camping, bonfires, river floats, wake boarding, dirt bike riding, 4-wheeling, etc. You can basically do any recreational sport that you can imagine here. But, seeing as how we are in Colorado, snow is inevitable. Loveland Ski Resort opened the second week of October, and the rest of the ski resorts will soon follow their lead. This summer has definitely been a good one, and we are sad to see it go, but it's time to put away the bathing suits and bikinis and bust out the snowboarding gear and winter apparel. Winter will bring with it new, snowy adventures as well as turkey along with other good food! Plus, we have a feeling that next summer will be even more Obnoxxious than this one...So, in honor of the changing season, here's our tribute to a Colorado summer. The many faces of Obnoxxious...

With Halloween only a couple of days away, I felt like this was the perfect time to formally introduce the faces behind Obnoxxious Clothing Company, for anyone that doesn't already know. I know. Scary, right? I mean, maybe I'm on my own here, but I really feel like Halloween and being Obnoxxious just kind of go together... So, here it goes. From left to right, you have, me, aka Omar, Ryan (center), and Ryan (right). From here on out, I will refer to Ryan (center) as little Ryan, and Ryan (right) as big Ryan. Is little Ryan really small, and big Ryan really big? Not exactly. However, there is an age difference of a few years, so...you get the point. I, Omar, am the one that usually writes all of the blog posts. Unfortunately, my name isn't Ryan, or we could start a boy band. Although, that's not really our style. Moving along, we officially launched our company in May of 2009, but the idea was born in 1989. Yes, I said 1989. You see 1989 is the year that little Ryan was born in Grand Junction, CO. And his family quickly gave him the nickname 'Obnoxxious.' Fast foward 13 years and you get to the three of us all meeting and eventually becoming friends. Although, we all had many differences, we met in the desert because of one common interest: riding dirt bikes. And eventually, this led to the three of us starting a clothing line named, you guessed it, Obnoxxious. Although, we are all definitely obnoxious, some more than others, little Ryan is the poster child for Obnoxxious. He's our everyday walking mascot. His obsession even led him to get 'Obnoxious' tattooed on his arm. Anyway, enough about us. Feel free to hit any of us up anytime. So, it recently occurred to us that some people out there may not really know what the "Obnoxxious" Lifestyle, and our company, is all about. We know that most companies spend a lot of time and money writing out long, extensive statements explaining what their company represents, and we have one too, but it's definitely much simpler than most. We prefer to explain our brand by living our brand. We love to ride dirt bikes, snowboard, wakeboard, and basically take part in any extreme sport, or activity, that requires testing boundaries. And, most importantly, we have fun doing it. But, ultimately, our brand represents pushing the limits in whatever you do. Going beyond the point where others would think is far enough. Annoying or Obnoxxious...?!

Ever since I watched the trailer for 'Jackass 3D,' my mind has been consumed with "Obnoxxiousness." (Not sure if that's actually a word). And, when I think of "Obnoxxiousness," the movie Dumb and Dumber comes to mind. This is definitely one of my favorite scenes in the movie, but I think the most 'Annoying' sound in the world should be referred to as the most 'Obnoxxious' sound in the world. Who's with me?

JACKASS GUYS + CAMERA CREW = OBNOXXIOUS!

I just watched the trailer for Jackass 3D and 'HILARIOUS' is the first word that came to mind. Well...that and 'OBNOXXIOUS' of course, haha!! The movie opens this Friday, October 15th, and you can bet that the Obnoxxious Crew will be there in the front row. This might be the best Jackass movie yet! Anytime a movie starts with someone saying, "This isn't the best idea ever," you know it's gonna be good! If you haven't seen the trailer yet, I posted it for your convenience. You're welcome! Live Your Brand!!!

So a recent episode of Fantasy Factory inspired the title of this blog post. One of our Obnoxxious Crew Members recently got the words "OBNOXXIOUS LIFESTYLE" tattooed on his arms. Now, the world will have no doubt about how Obnoxxious the OBNOXXIOUS CREW really is (as if they ever did!) Besides being Obnoxious, there's not too many better ways to show your dedication to the cause. If you're gonna be Obnoxxious, do it for life! Although, I wonder if he knows he spelled "Obnoxxious" wrong...

Only at Rock Jam...

What's the second best thing to Country Jam?! That would be Rock Jam! And much like Country Jam, it's a musical drunk fest with ladies in bikinis, Obnoxxious people, and slightly cooler weather! Luckily, the people that organize Rock Jam are the same people that organize Country Jam and only make it a two day event, since they know that some of us (I won't say any names) are still recovering, both mentally and physically, from Country Jam...So thank you music fest organizers. The event kicked off on August 27th in Mack, Colorado and concluded on the 28th wherever you woke up after passing out. But, the true party goers were there at least one night before and left one night after. The lineup this year included Buckcherry, Sick Puppies, Finger Eleven, Heart, Hinder, and lots of other great bands. Along with a great lineup were the most die-hard Obnoxxious fans we've ever met! Thanks to everyone who came out and dropped by the booth! You are the reason we stay Obnoxxious amidst all the sane people in the world! So, in spite of what your mother may have told you, BE OBNOXXIOUS! STAY OBNOXXIOUS!

So, it's been a while since we've updated the website or posted pics of the new merchandise. But, let me assure you, the Obnoxxious Crew has been working away on producing new designs. What Happens At Country Jam...

What do you get when you mix 100+ degree weather with alcohol, country music, ladies in bikinis, and the most Obnoxxious crowd in the world? In Colorado, we refer to this combination as Country Jam. And much like Vegas, what happens at Country Jam usually doesn't stay there. On June 24th through the 27th, four days of insanity, Country Jam kicked off in Mack, CO. This event has taken place in the same location for well over a decade. And, the crowd has gotten more Obnoxxious every year. Luckily, for us, we couldn't ask for more. The pre-gaming for the event began Wednesday night, with the actual show going from Thursday through Sunday. And by Sunday, everyone definitely needed a vacation to recover from their vacation. So, here's to 331 days until the next Country Jam. Step off the Beaten Path, BE OBNOXXIOUS!!!
